How to Wash Black Jeans

Turn your black jeans inside out before putting them in the washing machine.

Soak your black jeans in a bucket of water and 1 cup of vinegar. The vinegar sets the color in the jeans.

Wash your black jeans with other black clothing items.

Set the wash and rinse cycles both to cold water. Cold water keeps the fabric color from bleeding.

Add a tablespoon of black fabric dye to a bucket of cold water. Soak your black jeans in the dye mixture. Let them dry and then wash them in cold water. Occasionally adding color to your black jeans will keep them looking like new.

Tips & Warnings
Try not to wash your jeans often. If you can keep them clean while wearing them, hold off on the wash. Get a few wears in before washing and the jeans will hold up longer.
Do not keep your black jeans in the dryer for the full cycle. The drying process weakens the fabric and black jeans will look dingier, quicker. Take them out when they are still damp and hang them outside on a clothesline.
