For the front of the jeans draw the bottom of the pentagon coming to a sharp point. Draw the guidelines for the legs with simple lines. Add circles for the knees and ovals for the feet.

    • 2

Add cylinders for the upper and lower legs. Draw the upper leg cylinder wider at the top than the bottom. Do the same for the lower legs. Apply this to both the front and back of the jeans.

    • 3

Draw a curved line across the top of the back of the jeans. Draw another curved line underneath this. Draw a reverse "J" shape. Add a small vertical line on the right-hand side of the back of the jeans. Draw a pentagon on the on the left side cheek and another on the right for pockets.

Draw a vertical line going down the middle of the front of the pants for the zipper. Draw a small circle for the button. On each top side of the pants add a small curved line for pockets. Draw a horizontal line going across the top of the jeans. Add small vertical lines on the top sides of the front of the jeans for belt loops. On both pants add a small bell curve to the bottom of the jeans and across the top of the shoes.

    • 5

Add parallel lines to the two horizontal lines on the top of the back of the jeans. Draw parallel lines inside each of the back pockets. Add a vertical line running down the right hand side of the back left leg to show the seam of the jeans. Draw parallel lines at the bottom of both sides of the jeans.

    • 6

Draw parallel lines around the front pockets. Add an "L" shape on the left-hand side of the zipper for the zipper flap. Thicken the belt loops with parallel lines attached to the belt loop guidelines.

    • 7

Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry and erase all of the pencil lines. Add a small diagonal "V" shape under the knee on the front side of the pants. Draw large "7"-shaped line under the front knee. These lines will help to show the folds in the clothing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once you have drawn out the skeletal frame you can play around with different jean designs.

  • Let the ink dry before erasing the pencil lines to prevent smudges on your drawing.
