How to Make a Paper Holding Folder
Make a paper holding folder quickly and easily with one or two sheets of sturdy paper. Rather than search the stores, use paper you have on hand to make a folder you can decorate, personalize and label in any way and in any size. Have children make their own school or home organizers with this simple plan.
Things You'll Need
- Sturdy rectangular paper twice as wide as the folder you want to make

Make a simple paper holding folder by first folding up about 3 inches along the long edge of the rectangular paper. With the folded edge facing up, fold the entire rectangle in half, resulting in a folder shape half the width it was with a pocket at the bottom. Secure the ends of the folded edge with staple or tape so papers do not slip out.

Make a slightly more complicated folder using two rectangular pieces of paper in the same or different colors. Fold one sheet in half widthwise and the second sheet in half lengthwise, resulting in a folded paper half the length. You now have one piece of paper folded into a long skinny rectangle and one piece of paper folded into a short wide rectangle.

You now have one unfolded paper inside the folds of the paper you folded into a long skinny rectangle. Fold both of these papers in half, creating a folder shape half the width it was with a pocket at the bottom. Secure the ends of the folder with staples or tape so that papers do not fall out.
Tips & Warnings
Use only very sturdy paper for a lasting folder. Laminate paper first for added durability. Folder can be made of decorative paper or decorated after making.
