How to Make Loose Shoes Tight

When the shoes you are wearing are flopping around because they are two sizes too big, the last thing you want to do is to walk around all day with your feet falling out of your shoe heels. Some people need to wear an unusually large pair of shoes, whether it is for acting work, for bowling or just because they dragged their own pair of shoes through mud and now can only wear their friends' shoes for the remainder of the day. There are some simple solutions to making loose shoes fit tightly.

• Shoelaces
• Rag
• Pantyhose
• Socks

1. Lace your shoes. Make sure they are laced as tightly as possible without breaking the laces or suffocating your feet. Double- or triple-knot them to ensure they will stay. This method may be a little irritating when taking the shoes off, but they will stay on.

2. Grab some extra laces and lace them up on your shoes. This will probably not look too stylish. But if you do it right, the laces can actually match the shoes. Make sure they are color-coordinated, so the shoes and laces match.

3. Ball up a sock, a pair of pantyhose or a small rag and insert it into the toe of your shoe. This may be uncomfortable at first, but no one will notice, and your shoes will not slip off. There are also special socks you can buy with a thicker toe specifically for this purpose.

4. Put on several pairs of socks. This method may also be uncomfortable, but it is especially useful in the winter, because it will keep your feet very warm, even in extremely cold temperatures.

5. Use shoe pads. They are inexpensive and quite comfortable. Just slip them into your shoe, right under your foot. These are great for high-heeled shoes, because they help minimize slippage. You can also use heel pads.
