How to Make Hat Bands

You can quickly change your look by simply putting on a hat, but to make that hat match what you are wearing, coordinate the band with your other accessories. Like a belt, handbag and shoes, your hat band should ideally match. By having these pieces coordinated, you can have a complete look, from head to toe.

Things You'll Need

• Hat 3 " wide strip of fabric, long enough to wrap around your hat brim with 2 " overlap Elastic to wrap around hat brim Needle Thread

Instructions

1. Fold the two long sides of the strip of fabric to meet with the pattern on the inside. Sew these sides together. You should have a long tube with the exterior of your hatband on the inside.

2. Turn the tube right side out. You will now see the exterior of the fabric.

3. Put the elastic through the tube. Scrunch up the fabric until you can see the two ends of the elastic. Sew these together.

4. Stitch together the ends of the fabric. And you will have a large, expandable hat band to add to your hat.
