It is a good idea to save any gift bag that your receive and use it to give a gift in the future. However, you should be careful to fold and store your bag properly so that it will look like new when you use it in the future.

Open the gift bag and carefully remove the gift so that you do not tear or wrinkle the bag. Remove all the tissue paper from the bag, and either toss it in the trash or fold it, if you think it appears new enough to be reused again in the future.

Look on the bag to see if it has any charms or decorations on the surface. If any can be removed, then remove them so that they don't create indents or wrinkles in your bag when you fold it. If they cannot be removed, then take them into consideration, and do not press the bag too firmly when you collapse and fold it.

Observe the creases so that you know which way to fold it. If you fold it the wrong way, you will create more creases in the bag, making it obvious that you are reusing it. Gently press in the sides of the bag so that it naturally collapses. Push the front and back sides of the bag together until the bag is folded flat and smooth.
