Step 1
Embellished greeting cardCreate a three-dimensional greeting card by hot-gluing a variety of papers and embellishments. These can include buttons, beads, images, faux flowers and yarn. Start with flat items, then build up on top in an interesting arrangements. Attach the smallest embellishments at the end. Hot-glue a border of frilly yarn. This project is excellent for both children and adults. It allows for unlimited artistic ability to create cards that will be appreciated by the recipient because it was made by hand.

Step 2
Embellished journalsTurn a plain journal into a work of art or a treasured gift by hot-gluing themed images, papers and embellishments. Themes can range from gardening, coffee and tea lovers, travel or wedding keepsakes. Attach a decorative cord or ribbon on the middle of the spine with hot glue to tie the journal closed when not in use or to keep loose papers and cards inside. Build up the journal design from large, flat pieces to small beads or buttons.

Embellished Christman fanMake a wedding favor or holiday fan using hot glue to secure trims, laces, beads, ribbons and other decorations to a basic fan created with mat board and Popsicle stick for a handle. Choose themed colors and embellishments to create simple gifts, conversation pieces, place cards and other handmade items. This is an enjoyable project for both children and adults.
