1
Call your old friend's family. If her mother or father live in the same home, you can call and ask them for their latest contact information. This simple step may be all you need.
-
2
Contact your school's alumni organization if you graduated from the same high school or college and consult any one online people-finder tools and databases they might offer. The institution might be able to give you updated information on your old friend.

Use ZabaSearch (See Resources). This search engine will give you all the information you need to find your old friend. It is free to use and will tell you your friend's birthdate, address and phone number. If you need more information than that you can pay an extra fee for a background check and criminal history--perhaps you old friend isn't someone you want to renew relations with!

4
Use MySpace (see Resources). You don't have to sign in to use the search box, but if you have an account you might want to. Your account will allow you to email your friend. Just type your friend's name in search box located on the home page. You can narrow your search if you know the area in which your friend lives.

Use Facebook (see Resources). Once again, you don't need to sign in to use the search box, but you won't be able to email your friend when you find him. Facebook is free like MySpace, and both provide space for users to post photos. This will allow you to positively identify that the contact is indeed your friend. Facebook also has a chat feature that you can utilize to contact your friend. What's more, as both MySpace and Facebook are active social networking sites, you may find multiple friends in one pass, even ones you didn't know you were looking. And be prepared to be found yourself!
