How to Make Breast Cancer Pins

Show your support for a cure by making a pink ribbon breast cancer pin to help heighten awareness of breast cancer. A ribbon pin is quite simple to make. No special skills are required. They are also inexpensive, making it affordable to make hundreds for use at special events such as fundraisers or health fairs. Pin on a pink ribbon, and help save a life.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spools of pink ribbon
  • Ruler Scissors
  • Small safety pins
  • Glue
  1. Step 1

    Cut a 3-inch long length of ribbon from the spool, angling the ends.

  2. Step 2

    Lay the ribbon out horizontally on a flat surface in front of you.

  3. Step 3

    Pick up the ribbon, taking the left end of the ribbon into your left hand and the right end of the ribbon into your right hand.

  4. Step 4

    Fold the ribbon ends toward one another, folding the ribbon in half.

  5. Step 5

    Tuck the right half of the ribbon under the left half allowing the two halves to cross at the center forming the signature "ribbon" look.

  6. Step 6

    Dab a tiny dot of glue to the underside of the top ribbon, adhering the two ribbon halves together.

  7. Step 7

    Open the safety pin and insert it horizontally across the back of the bottom ribbon where the ribbons meet in back. The pin is now ready to be pinned to your lapel, enhancing breast cancer awareness with every wear.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you wish, you can add some sparkle to your ribbon by gluing on sequins, beads or rhinestones. Experiment with different styles and widths of ribbon for a variety of looks.
