Instructions

    • 1

Lay a strip of double-sided tape diagonally across a sheet of A4 paper.

    • 2

Roll the sheet of paper tightly, leaving one end slightly looser than the other to provide a tapered look. Roll the paper up slightly more than halfway to the opposite corner.

    • 3

Spread glue across the remaining section of paper, and then continue rolling all the way to the opposite corner. Snip off the ends of the wand to make them even.

    • 4

Fill the openings on both ends of the wand with glue using a glue gun. To avoid using too much glue, you can stuff pieces of tissue paper into the larger opening using a pencil. Give the wand about twenty minutes to dry.

    • 5

Give the surface of the wand some of the texture seen on Harry Potter's wand by using a glue gun along the surface. Allow a few minutes to dry, and be careful setting it down so as not to affect the design.

    • 6

Apply a layer of brown spray paint to the wand's surface, and then allow time for the paint to dry.

    • 7

Mix up a wash of black acrylic paint so that there is enough water in the mix to wipe away the paint after it is applied. Then, start painting one small section of the wand at a time with your wash.

    • 8

After applying each section of black paint, dab the wand with a paper towel for an aged effect, leaving some of the black paint on the wand. Do not allow the paint to sit too long on the wand before dabbing it off, or else the paint will dry. Do not be afraid to repeat the painting process if you wish to add more colors or effects.

As a finishing touch, apply some gold marker or gold gel pen where desired. After your wand has completely dried, it is ready to be used for decoration, gifts, or wizard dueling.
