Things You'll Need:
- Altoid or similar container
- sewing materials
-
Step 1
The little Altoid tin containers were just meant to do something with other than just throw them away. This is one good use. There are many others.
-
Step 2
First paint the tin in the color of your choice, using a metal paint, and let dry.
Gather your sewing material; needle, thread wrapped around a piece of cardboard, (at least two; one black and one white) several sizes of safety pins, straight pins stuck in a small piece of foam, and a tiny set of scissors. -
Step 3
With these nearby, you are ready for any sewing emergency that should occur.
Now on to the top of the tin.
You could glue a magnet of your choice, or an old piece of jewelry, add lettering, draw a picture, apply decals; endless. Just keep thinking. -
Step 4
But don't stop there.
Use another tin to place your medication in if you are going away for a few days.
Use another tin to keep spare keys.
How about a treasure tin for a child?
A spare coin tin?
Safety or straight pin container
Other mints or candy
to do lists or reminders (you would always know where to find them)
business cards

on 2/15/2009 Great idea using these containers. Better to recycle them instead of piling up in the trash dump! Thanks again for one of your great ideas.
