They’re back! Those horrible blackheads and zits that you dreaded as a teenager are showing up on your face now that you’re an adult and you feel hopeless. Here are a few ways to clear up your adult acne.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cleansing Products
  • Sunscreen Lotion
  • New Makeup Brushes & Shaving Products
  • Oil absorbing mask
  • Exfoliating Cream
  1. Step 1

Change your diet. It may be as simple as changing the types of foods you eat. Try eliminating fatty foods from your diet and switch to healthier alternatives like lean meats, fruits and vegetables. A great way to help hydrate your skin from the inside out is to drink plenty of water. Drinking six to eight glasses of water will help you release the toxins in your body and improve skin condition.

  2. Step 2

Get more rest. Adults need an average of eight hours of sleep each night. Remember that stress and sleep deprivation will wreak havoc on your skin. Get more rest and start exercising regularly to improve the condition of your skin.

  3. Step 3

Follow a regular skin cleansing routine. Choose skin products that are hypo-allergenic and fragrance-free. Wash your face in the morning and at night before going to bed. There are several products available that will help you eliminate blackheads and blemishes if you use them regularly. The resource section of this article includes a list of some great skin products. Make time to exfoliate and use an oil-absorbing face mask on a weekly basis. Remember to use a sunscreen lotion every day,so that your skin will be protected from damaging sun rays. This is very important if you are using products with benzoyl peroxide.

  4. Step 4

Women should buy new makeup brushes or use clean hands to apply makeup. It would also be helpful to buy different makeup products that are designed for sensitive skin. Men should also switch to new shaving products. Buy new products that will help eliminate shaving bumps and other skin irritations.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consult a dermatologist if the problem persist.
  • If you are looking to get quicker results, get a facial or chemical peel to speed up the healing process.
  • Using too many products will cause your skin to get more irritated.
