Sinus congestion can be annoying and painful. If you are tired of being congested and want to clear your sinus congestion quickly you should try using a netty pot. Netty pots are an easy, natural, pain free way to clear congestion. By using a netty pot you can clear your congestion quickly and avoid taking medications with lots of side effects. Follow these steps to get your sinus congestion cleared up fast!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Netty Pot
  • Luke Warm Water
  • Saline Solution
  • Kleenex
  • Sink
  1. Step 1

The first step is purchasing a netty pot. Netty pots can be purchased at your local drug store or even at Wal-Mart. Netty pots generally cost less than $15.00 and can be used over and over again.

  2. Step 2

Take your netty pot home and wash it well.

  3. Step 3

Fill your netty pot with the saline solution that it came with and luke warm water. Shake it softly to mix the solution and water.

  4. Step 4

Lean over the sink and place the netty pot to one of your nostrils. Tilt your head the opposite direction. The water will begin to flow through your sinus cavity and out your other nostril. If you are very congested it may take a few moments for the water to begin to come out.

  5. Step 5

Let half of the water run through and then stop and blow your nose softly. Then repeat on the other side with the remained water and saline solution.

  6. Step 6

Now you wash your netty pot and put it away until your next use. You can use the netty pot several times a day as needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't use the netty pot right before bed or before leaving the house.
  • You may need to blow your nose quite a bit the first 20-30 minutes after using the netty pot.
  • Never use very hot or very cold water with the netty pot. Always use luke warm water.
  • Never use plain water. Always use a saline solution mixed with the water. Plain water will cause a burning sensation.
