Things You'll Need:
- A couple of hours.
- A good vein in your arm.
-
Step 1
Locate a plasma donation center near you. This can be performed by a simple search in google. Also, try your local phone book. The plasma center in my area is called Biolife Plasma Center.
-
Step 2
Contact the plasma center and make an appointment. You will need to be screened at the center, this is why an appointment is necessary. You will be asked various questions about your health and recent dietary activity. They will also prick your finger to measure blood levels. All of this will determine if you'll be allowed to donate that day.

Step 3
Once you've been successfully screened, proceed to the donation area and complete plasma donation. For this, you will have your plasma collected through a process called plasmapheresis. Basically a needle is placed in your vein and your blood is pumped into a specialized machine that separates the plasma from the other whole blood components, such as red and white blood cells and platelets. While the plasma is collected, the other blood components are filtered into a separate container. Once that container is full, your red and white blood cells and platelets are returned to your body. A saline solution is also put back into your system to replace lost fluid. During this process you're free to relax and read a book. It can take a couple of hours.

Step 4
Get paid. The plasma donation center in my area will allow you to donate twice per week and be paid $55 weekly. That's some nice extra money!
