Do you have stains from your dog or cat that just loves to keep peeing on your carpet? Stop buying expensive pet stain removers and make it yourself by using household items at a fraction of cost.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 16oz or bigger plastic spray bottle or other plastic bottles (sports drink bottle, waterbottle, etc)
  • 10oz Hydrogen Peroxide
  • 2oz water
  • 2 tsps Baking soda
  • 1 tsp liquid dish washing soap
  1. Step 1

Put all the ingredients in the plastic bottle of your choice. Close the bottle and just shake it around to mix all the ingredients together.

  2. Step 2

Find the stained area and pour the solution evenly. The solution must be able to reach the underlying pad of the carpet, so pour generously in each stained area. You can use a brush or a sponge to help solution settle deeper. If you can't find the stained area, you can get a UV blacklight. Turn off all the lights and look at the carpet with UV light to spot the stain.

  3. Step 3

Give enough time to entirely dry. It might take a couple of hours to a day, depending on the severeness of the stain. When you are sure the carpet has dried, vacuum to remove baking soda.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can do a small spot test to see the result
  • Reduce the water and add more peroxide if you want a stronger solution
  • Block this area from your pets till dry! You do not want them to lick the solution off.
  • Make sure to use a pair of gloves if you're going to have physical contact with solution
