We love cake at our house and especially Pumpkin Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting!

Pumpkin Cake is perfect for Thanksgiving Dessert and Halloween Parties, too. But, since these ingredients are available year-round it is really a great dessert for any time of the year.

Every time that I have made this for a family gathering or school function, everyone always wants the recipe. It's a definite keeper and oh so yummy! Give it a try! Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground
  • cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 15 oz can of pumpkin
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

    • 1

      Heat oven to 350. Grease 15 x 10 pan. In large bowl, blend all cake ingredients (All ingredients from the flour through the eggs) at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour into prepared pan.

      Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool.

      In small bowl, combine frosting ingredients (Powdered Sugar to the Vanilla); beat until smooth. Spread over cooled cake. Refrigerate leftovers.

      Perfect dessert for Thanksgiving!

Tips & Warnings

  • Instead of making the frosting, you can use a ready-made tub of Cream Cheese frosting
