Dry skin is probably the thing i hate the most about the winter months, next to cold weather. My skin is both dry and sensitive but almost everyone gets dry skin in the winter so i am going to give you a few of my tips so help alleviate the irritation of overly dry skin. Even in the summer months i have pretty dry skin so these tips can be used year long.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • lotion
  • humidifier (optional)
  1. Step 1

Invest in a humidifier. I have two in my bedroom because my house is so dry. Not only does it help with your skin but it also helps alleviate cold symptoms.

  2. Step 2

Do not towel dry. When i step out of the shower i wrap my towel around me and walk around doing other things i need to do to get ready until i am air dried. This way my skin will soak up the extra moisture.

  3. Step 3

While your skin is still a little bit damp apply your lotion of choice all over your body. Concentrate on your problem areas such as your elbows and hands. I like to use baby lotion because is soaks in quickly and since i have sensitive skin also, it doesn't irritate it.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your skin is exceptionally dry try a cream instead of a lotion.
  • If your dry skin is out of hand do not be afraid to go to a dermatologist. It may be eczema.
