1. First if you want to install the blinds inside the windowsill, when the blinds is close it will be almost flat with the wall. Hold the tape on one end and measure across the window sill, from one inside wall to the other side inside wall. Be very specific about installing the blinds's inside the windosill.

2. If you don't mine the blinds sticking out of the wall, you can add at lease 6" to each side. When you get your window opening then you add 12" to that measurement and that will be the size you want.

3. If you really really want to block any views from outside through the side of the blinds, you can increase the lenght of the of the blind's track to 12" on each side.That will give you 3 blinds on both side.

Tips & Warnings

• ask them to cut the blinds track to fit into the window opening.
• always wear safety goggles
