Yes you heard me right, wine biscuits. My mother in law used to make these all the time. I ate a ton of them before I knew they these had wine in them. I ate more once I found out what was in them! Ha! Ha!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1- Cup Red WIne
  • 1- Cup Canola Oil
  • 1- Cup Sugar
  • 5- Cups Flour
  • 3 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350 Degrees....

  2. Step 2

The best I could find doing a little research is wine biscuits originated as a way to use up un-used wine. Wine was added in place of milk.

I have made these bread sticks and served them with a fine cheese. For those looking for a wonderful cheese that pairs great with these try "Extra Aged Gouda". Not Gouda, but "Extra Aged Gouda" This Gouda cheese taste like a sweet paramasion cheese....

  3. Step 3

    Okay to the bicuits......

In bowl combine all ingredients except flour. Mix well...

  4. Step 4

Add flour to bowl one cup at a time. Mix until all incorporated..

  5. Step 5

Take 3--4 TBSP of dough at a time and roll into a tube long enough to make pretzel shape, or make spiral shapes. Bake on cookie sheet 2" apart for 20 minutes or until golden brown.....
