Make wedding centerpieces out of boxes and wrapping paper.

It isn’t necessary to buy expensive flowers or decorations for centerpieces at your wedding reception. You can create dramatic centerpieces from boxes and wrapping paper for very little expense. Stack smaller boxes on top of each other, or use larger boxes by themselves.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Collect your boxes. The boxes need to be small enough to fit in the center of the tables at your reception, so small shipping boxes and gift boxes are good. Ask friends and family to save their boxes as well.

    • 2

Find lots of festive wrapping paper and ribbon that will coordinate with your wedding colors or theme.

    • 3

Wrap the boxes as you would wrap a present. Stack smaller boxes so they have a tower effect and wrap them together with wide fancy ribbon. Larger boxes can stand on their own.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want, slip a flower into the top of the ribbon for an added touch.

  • Use the nicest paper and fanciest ribbon possible for your budget. You can even try strings of crystal beads you find at the fabric store as well.

  • If you can't save enough boxes, you can purchase empty ones online or at a local packing store for very little money.
