Step 1
Implement a plan. Have a goal in mind and a plan before you get started. You'll need to know how much time you can devote to your new venture and how much income you would theoretically like to make to ensure that it's worth it to work at home.
-
Step 2
Find jobs that are hiring for work at home business. There are many places that are hiring but you will need to find reviews and forums on sites before apply. Keep in mind that any place that wants you to pay first is a business you need to research first so you do not lose money and get nothing in return.
-
Step 3
Consider using eBay or other auction sites to start a business. If you have something unique that you can create or even just an attic full of unwanted items, you can sell your things on an auction site and make more income. While selling things you have lying around the house can be an immediate income, search for an item that is renewable, something you can create or offer that keeps income flowing.
-
Step 4
Try freelancing. Many places offer freelance opportunities if you apply. The pay can range from little to a substantial amount depending on your experience. If you have no writing skills, get a blog and start there. An established blog shows that you have published work and you can even get paid for blog posts with certain sites. There are other sites that allow you to submit content for publication and pay as well.

Step 5
Delegate your time wisely. Working at home doesn't mean you can work a few minutes then take the rest of the day off if you plan to make any type of substantial income. Be sure to treat your job like any other job. Some places will have deadlines or a set number of hours to work. Be sure to keep to that schedule if you want to be successful.
