A Tangled Mess of Electrical Cords

I love to decorate and I love when my house is clean and tidy, just like most people. But you know what I hate? Electrical Cords! But, I have come up with a few tricks to hide at least some of the cords around my house... Does this Spark an idea?

      Cookbook on Display

Kitchen counters always have too many cords with all of the appliances and gadgets that need to be plugged in. One trick I use, is propping up a cookbook in a display holder right in front of the electrical outlet...so much prettier!

Hanging Curtains Higher & Wider Than Window Makes Such a Dramatic Difference

Curtains should be hung wider than the windows (and taller, too). Not only do they look so much nicer like this, but they can help to conceal any electrical outlets and cords that might be hanging around.

Phone Charging Station in a Table Drawer

And finally, I have talked about this before, but making a phone charging station inside of a drawer will get all of those cordless phones, ipods & digital cameras off of the kitchen counter and into a drawer...with no cords to look at, too! Ahh...life is good!

Tips & Warnings

  • If cords are visible, try to match them to your wall or carpet, with paint, if you have to, to conceal them.
