Things You'll Need:
- Nylon stocking cap
- Hair glue
- Plastic cap
-
Step 1
SECURE YOUR NATURAL HAIR. Always protect your natural hair first so make sure that your hair is clean and dry and comb it in a wrap around your head.
-
Step 2
Put on first stocking capSTOCKING CAP. Put on the first nylon stocking cap and make sure as much of your hair is covered as possible.
-
Step 3
PLASTIC CAP. Put the plastic cap on over the stocking cap. This is to prevent the glue from sticking to your hair while you make your wig. If you don't have a plastic cap ... and this is the same plastic cap you use when you are sitting under the dryer with conditioner in your hair, coloring, etc. you can also use just a regular plastic bag that you bring your groceries home in.
-
Step 4
STOCKING CAP AGAIN. Put on the second stocking cap. This one will be the base for your wig. Fit it over your head just as you would wear it with the wig completed.
-
Step 5
GLUE WEAVE. Start applying your glue to your weave and place on the stocking cap beginning at the nape of your neck. Complete this until you have glued your weave completely covering the stocking cap.
-
Step 6
CUT AND STYLE. Now you can cut bangs, layers or whatever you'd like to do to your weave. Style it as you like as well.
-
Step 7
Completed wig.REMOVE PLASTIC. Now that you have completed your wig it's time to wear it. The glue will be dry by now so remove the wig from your head. The plastic cap will still be stuck to it. You can easily peel this away from the stocking cap and discard or reuse for another wig. Keep the first stocking cap on and place the wig back onto your head. Your wig is done and you are ready to go!
-
Step 8
Use a wig head if you don't want to be your own modelYou can also repeat each of these steps without using your own head as a model and just use a wig head. But be aware that you will have an extra step at the end of stretching the wig out before wearing it since the wig head is small than the average human head.
