Things You'll Need:
- white vinegar
- water
- bucket
- paper towels or rags
-
Step 1
Vinegar has acid in; so this makes it good to use as a preventative treatment in those areas where mold and mildew grows. A good example would be around the bathtub/shower area. Simply wash down the walls with vinegar every couple of weeks.
-
Step 2
Glass doors on the shower will be clean and bright if you wash them down with a solution of water and vinegar once a week.
-
Step 3
You can also clean the shower door tracks by pouring straight vinegar unto them. Rinse with water after about five minutes.
-
Step 4
You can clean ceramic tile or linoleum floors and gets them shiny and clean by mopping with a solution of ½ cup of vinegar and warm water.
-
Step 5
You can clean the base of sink faucets by soaking paper towels in undiluted white vinegar and leaving them on the base of the faucets for an hour or so. Scrub with an old toothbrush and rinse them off. They will look as good as new.
-
Step 6
Vinegar is good for cleaning mirrors and windows. It doesn’t leave streaks. Put ½ cup of vinegar in a gallon of water and clean away. To make cleaning easier put the solution in a clean sprayer bottle, label it, and keep it on hand.
-
Step 7
You can strip wallpaper with a solution of ½ cup of vinegar in a gallon of hot water. Simply take a rag and soak down the paper with the solution. If the wallpaper is stubborn add more vinegar.
-
Step 8
To clean up your washing machine pour a gallon of white vinegar into it and run the machine through a regular cycle.
-
Step 9
To clean your coffeepot run two cups of white vinegar and two cups of water through it.Next, run plain water through the pot. Your coffee will taste much better. Do this as often as needed.

on 10/1/2009 Thanks for the great article! I like to use vinegar also to remove stains from clothing, remove strong odors from the air ("yuck-trash"), and simply clean glass and mirrors!
