Ninjutsu Techniques
Ninjutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art, that, while popular, is shrouded in mystery largely due to the fact that most of the old schools and ways no longer exist, leaving many aspects of the art open to interpretation and hearsay. Though we may not know everything about Ninjutsu's techniques and philosophies, the ninja has become a pop culture icon as a symbol of mysticism and incredible skill.
Taijutsu translates to "body art" and refers to the hand to hand combat techniques employed in Ninjutsu. It is a general term and is also used interchangeably with the term Jujutsu, which is a Japanese art of striking and grappling. Taijutsu was broken down into several aspects, including striking, grappling, rolling, evasion, bone breaking and pressure point striking. These techniques take many years of diligent practice to master.

Perform silent walking. Lift your front leg and step forward, placing the heel of that foot onto the ground. Look where you are stepping and be mindful of anything in the vicinity that will make noise when stepped on. As your heel touches the ground, rotate your foot 45 degrees and shift your body weight forward onto that leg so that you may quickly and silently lift your rear foot off of the ground. Do not begin to shift your weight until your foot has completed its rotation and is firmly on the ground. This will take practice, as maintaining balance while doing this may be difficult for some.
Lift your rear foot, stepping forward and placing the heel onto the ground. When you step, place the heel onto the ground and pivot the foot, just as before. Shift your weight forward and prepare to take another step. When walking backward, first place the ball of the foot onto the floor, followed by the heel. -

Perform hadaka jime. Position yourself behind your opponent. Snake your right arm around your opponent's neck, making sure that his throat is at the crook of your elbow. Next, tighten your grip around the opponent's neck, making sure that your bicep and forearm are pressing against the sides of your opponent's neck. It is this pressure that will cut off the circulation of blood to your opponent's brain, rendering him unconscious.
The hand of the right arm should grab the upper region of your left arm between the shoulder and the biceps. Finally, bring your left arm toward your chest and wrap your left hand around the back of your opponent's head. At this point, the choke has been successfully locked it. Apply pressure with your right arm and as you apply pressure, arch your back slightly. Properly applied, this technique can cause unconsciousness in ten seconds or less. -

Throw shuriken. Place the shuriken in the hand of your choice between your thumb and index finger. The index finger should be bent horizontally across the shuriken for extra support. Bend your wrist, shift your body weight slightly backward and bring your arm into your chest. When you are ready to throw, shift your weight forward, extend your arm and flick your wrist simultaneously. The flick of the wrist will provide speed and help to ensure a straight trajectory.

Tips & Warnings
Wear light shoes. The ninja wore lightweight shoes called tabi boots. Use your surroundings-- move at the same time noise is created so as to cover your own sounds. For example, if bushes rustle while you are sneaking, be sure to step while the bushes are rustling, as this will cover the sound of your own footsteps. Breathe lightly. It is said that in ancient times, silent walking was practiced by treading on rice paper; If the ninja could walk without tearing the rice paper, it was believed that he could walk anywhere without making a noise. Do not throw shuriken with your arm only; remember to involve your entire body. Keep in mind that all three of these skills involve stealth--this is the essence of the ninja.
When performing hadaka jime, be sure that you don't apply pressure to your opponent's trachea as this may cause serious damage. Do not practice hadaka jime or any combat technique without the supervision and guidance of a qualified individual. Do not throw shuriken at any living target. Possession of shuriken is illegal in some states, so familiarize yourself with your state's laws.
