This is the easiest way to clean ceiling fan blades without the huge mess of the dust flying around, or getting on a table, bed, etc.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old Pillow Case (or just a dirty one), and some spray cleaner & a rag. I use Windex, or a Wood Cleaner (depending on the type of material the blades are made of).
  1. Step 1

Open your pillow case, and put the ceiling fan blade into the pillow case. Be careful so that you don't knock any of the dust off.

  2. Step 2

Close the open end of the pillow case with your hands (press it together).

  3. Step 3

Slowly pull the pillow case back, but at the same time, use your other hand to wipe the blade into the pillow case.

  4. Step 4

Most or all of the dust should be gone by now - it will be on the inside of the pillow case. Now you are going to want to spray a cleaner onto a rag, and just wipe the blades down to give them a clean shine.

  5. Step 5

Now you can just throw the pillow case into the washing machine & launder as directed.

Tips & Warnings
  • That's it! It's as simple as that. It's the no mess way of cleaning those dreaded ceiling fan blades.
  • Warning: Turn off your fan before starting the cleaning process!
