Step 1
Read, read, and read some more. Every idea comes from somewhere and reading is a great way to find them. It really doesn’t matter what you read, it could be fiction books, a magazine, or a Wikipedia article on the web. Just make sure to read on a variety of subject and in all different mediums …An idea will come.

Step 2
Start an idea file. When you read something that interests you, cut it out or print it, and stick it in a folder. Make notes about what ideas came to you while reading. If you have no immediate use for it, save it for later.
-
Step 3
Carry a small notebook with you. Make notes on things and people you notice, conversations you eavesdrop on, and things that bothered you during the day. Make sure you jot down your thought as soon as possible since you may not remember them later on.
-
Step 4
When all else fails, take a break. Do something unrelated to writing, go to a museum, have dinner with friends, go hiking, or anything that gets your mind away from writing. You’ll be surprise how not looking for ideas will help find some new ideas for your articles. Think of it this way, when you stop looking for something, you find it…Same principle.
