Step 1
Bring a photo ID and birth certificate to City Hall where you can apply for United States passports so you can get travel visas. In Massachusetts your birth certificate needs a "raised seal," as well as your parents' birthdays for passports and visas. If you don’t have this, before you can get your passport and visa for travel to the country you choose, contact City Hall in the city where you were born. City Hall will tell you what you need for American passports and visa services in other countries. But you must give yourself plenty of time for gathering the necessary paperwork and allowing for processing time for your USA passports to meet your visa requirement.

Step 2
Get photos for American passports, and format them for travel visas. You can get these at drug stores that process digital photos for USA passports or even take your own. To do this, photograph yourself in front of a white wall (visa services require there is NOTHING in the background other than the white wall). This is important to get a visa to other countries. After taking the photo, the visa requirement is that you resize and crop it to be 2 square inches. Bring 2 copies to City Hall when you apply for United States passports. A copy will appear in your passports and visas are settled once officials in the country you’re visiting check this photo.

Step 3
Bring money for USA passports to you can get a visa to travel in the country you choose. It costs around $100 for American passports at the time this article was written. When you have each visa requirement above, you’ll need to fill out forms for passports and visas at City Hall that are similar to a job application, with your personal information. They’ll mail your passport application to the appropriate agency, and if your documentation is satisfactory, they’ll mail you your passport for international ID and visa services, as well as your birth certificate back. If you submitted something incorrectly they’ll send you a letter explaining what to mail, and where. Once you have United States passports, keep it in a safe place when you travel so it can be stamped with travel visas when you arrive in the country you visit.
