Here's how you can involve your preschooler in making Valentine's Day cards for the school party AND keep your preschooler busy for 1 afternoon.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Cut out hearts from the white paper. Make them large enough so your preschooler has room to work. Have your preschooler decorate them with watercolor paints. Crayons, markers, pencils will also work well here. For added dimension, once the paint is dry, you can add details such as glitter, sequins, heart confetti, etc.

  2. Step 2

Using the colored paper, cut out slightly bigger hearts. You can use the white heart as a guide. The colored paper should add a nice border around the white heart. Glue the white heart onto the colored heart. Be sure to spread the glue around so that it doesn't get wrinkled.

  3. Step 3

Punch 2 holes at the top of the heart card. Punch a hole in the Valentine treat wrap. Attach the treat to the valentine card using the ribbon. You can tie a bow or leave it as a knot. Use any type of ribbon or string. I used left-over wrapping ribbon. Sign your child's name or write a special note to the teacher using the marker.

Tips & Warnings
  • make one for each student in your child's class
  • make an extra large one for the teacher and write an encouraging note
  • make this project using a Christmas theme cut-out such as trees, wreaths, bells, stars, etc.
