Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and you don’t have to go to an expensive restaurant just to have a special dinner date. Plan your own menu for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day dinner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

Play favorites. Find out your valentine’s favorite foods and surprise your date with their favorite foods. This is such a fun idea because usually our favorite foods don’t really go well together, but it will be greatly appreciated because it’s unexpected. Plus the fact that you cared enough to prepare your valentine’s favorite foods, even if they aren’t your favorite foods, is extremely thoughtful and romantic.

  2. Step 2

Make pancakes for breakfast and use a heart shaped cookie cutter to have heart shaped pancakes. Serve them with chocolate covered strawberries.

  3. Step 3

Make a food for every letter in V-A-L-E-N-T-I-N-E. Here’s some examples, but have fun coming up with your own ideas too!
    V – Veal/Vegetables/Victoria Sponge Cake
    A – Artichokes/Alaska King Crab/Avocado (Guacamole)/Apple Crisp/Angel Food Cake
    L – Liver/Lentils/Lasagna/Lamb/Lady Fingers/Lemonade
    E – Eggplant Parmesan/Egg Rolls/Edamame/Enchilada
    N – Nachos/Niçoise Salad/New England Clam Chowder/Nougat Cake
    T – Tamales/Trout/Tiramisu
    I – Italian Food/Ice Cream
    N – Noodles (spaghetti, Chicken Alfredo, etc.)/Nutella
    E – Escargot/Endive/Eskimo Pie

  4. Step 4

Use reverse psychology. Have dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner!

  5. Step 5

Write down the names of the dishes you’ve prepared for dinner, and put them into a hat and mix them up. Let your valentine draw a dish out of the hat and whatever is written on the paper, is what you have to bring to the table, no matter the order!

  6. Step 6

Have fun with the menu planning, and have fun with Valentine’s Day. Remember, it really is the thought that counts. And you don’t have to be a chef to make food that tastes good. You can search online and find just about any recipe for free and you don’t even have to buy a cookbook!
