Step 1
Solar Lamp with Shepherd's HookCheck your garden space. Identify where you want or need lights.
Are you lighting a path for safety or are you placing lights on a pond for enjoyment? These decisions will determine what kind of lights are needed.
If you are lighting a path you will need lights that are close to the ground. Make sure that they will be placed close enough to safely light your path. -
Step 2
Make sure that your space is level, for lights that are going to be placed on the ground, this will help to avoid tipping or leaning of the light. Be sure that the solar panels have ample access to light. Clear away blockage to the panel.

Step 3
Place the light where they will give you the most benefit. Pathways should generally be lit from the sides.
Placing floating lights on ponds makes it look very nice but beware of currents that can push them all to one spot.
