Valentine's Day The Simple Way!

Whether you are attached or single, this should not matter. In my mind, it is just about love. Love for another, love for yourself, love of love. I have always treated Valentine’s Day not like the commercial ‘Hallmark holiday’ that it is portrayed, but as an ode to love itself. Instead of buying into the marketer’s expectation of Valentine’s Day, I looked at it with more romantic eyes. However you celebrate it, celebrate it in the name of love, without being dictated by marketers, typical demonstrations or behaviors by rote. Extend it past the day and make the whole month, a month to celebrate all kinds of love.

Play romantic music in your home, car and wherever you go. Make it the backdrop and set the mood to put you in am roe romantic state of mind.

Indulgent, luxurious, sensuous chocolate

FINE CHOCOLATES
Chocolates and I mean good chocolate, dark, cocoa rich and filled with flavanoids, this chocolate stimulates your senses and elevates your mood with its rich qualities. It takes just a little to satisfy you then candied or milk chocolate and is a sensual experience. Get a small box for just the right amount and for a more budget friendly purchase.

The Captivating Scent of Flowers

FLOWERS
Nothing says romance more than flowers! It lifts the mood, fills the room with fragrance (if you get the fragrant kind, of course, like daffodils, certain roses and lilies- my personal favorite) and begs you to smell them. To save, go to a floral wholesaler for the best deal on flowers. Or, buy a lot of a cheaper variety like carnations for a sophisticated arrangement (skip the baby’s breath though!)

A simple massage, by candlelight, with romantic music playing is a wonderful way to say I love you!

It need not be real champagne to have a great experience. Look for a good quality sparkling wine. California and Italy makes some great and economical ones. A tall glass in the right setting is just romantic magic!

Call your friends and loved ones to tell them that you are thinking about them and love them. This small gesture can make that someone special’s day and will make you feel great too!
