Finding that perfect embellishment for your scrapbook layout can elevate your page from good to great. Here are some ways to find unique scrapbook embellishments to help take your scrapbook layouts to the next level.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Save souvenirs and memorabilia for your scrapbook pages. Keep your ticket stubs, swizzle sticks, business cards and other little bits and pieces to use as unique scrapbook embellishments when you create your scrapbook layout.

  2. Step 2

Keep an eye out for shapes, colors and textures to compliment your scrapbook pages. Buttons, fabrics, feathers, or even sand can add wonderful interest and detail to your scrapbook layouts, even if they don't necessarily pertain to the layout topic. In this case, they are truly unique scrapbook embellishments, on the page solely to enhance the layout itself.

  3. Step 3

Use Archival Mist to make special papers into unique scrapbook embellishments. Archival Mist helps to create a neutral pH, so papers like old newspaper and ultrasounds can be safely preserved and used as very special and unique scrapbook embellishments.

  4. Step 4

Incorporate your other crafts into your scrapbook pages to create unique scrapbook embellishments. Needlecraft, knitting, beading, polymer clay, quilling, tatting, etc... can all be included in your scrapbooking layouts. You could even make a whole album showcasing all your other crafting talents!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be aware of scale. Always keep in mind how a potential scrapbook embellishment will physically fit on a page, especially considering the photos you want to use.
  • Store your scrapbooks upright so your unique scrapbook embellishments don't get squished or damage other pages.
