Step 1
In order to even become a witch in The Sims 2 you will need the last expansion pack in the games series. The Sims 2 Apartment Life.
Once you have the game installed you will need to visit some of the shopping/town lots. I find that visiting the night clubs in town at night seem to be the best times to spot the witch NPC Sim.
Spotting the witch is easy because they will be wearing a long gown, a pointy hat, and will have pale white or green skin. The NPC witch also will glow a green glow (or white if they are good) of magic. -
Step 2
Once you spot her you want to try and talk to her as fast as you can, because she tends to fly away almost as quickly as she arrived. Once you talk to her, your Sim will have her stored in their bank of friends/aquaintances, and now you can invite the witch over.
Your goal is to become as friendly as you can with the witch. This is hard because the witch is hard to please, and one false move could turn a friendly relationship into a negative/hate relationship. -
Step 3
However if you manage to make the witch NPC your best friend, a new interaction will pop up when you go to talk to the witch. The interaction will say, 'teach me the path of darkness' (or path of light, depending if the witch is a good witch, or a bad witch).
Once the witch teaches your sim the path of darkness or light, your sim will transform into a witch. In your sims inventory you will now find a spell book, and a caluldron.
Your Sim uses the spell book to learn new spells, and the cauldron to make ingredients for the spells you have learned.
You can now use your magical powers against other Sims. You can do evil things, or nice things for other sims.
