  1. Step 1

The American Veterinary Medical Association can give you a list of pet food recalls. This professional group is made of veterinarians in the USA. They are issued this list to be given to the people who go to their clinics for their pets' check-up. Members of AVMA also place information boards in their clinics about the pet foods that are not safe.

  2. Step 2

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can also help you with finding pet food recalls. They give licenses to products that passed their tests. Just recently, they included pet foods in the list of products that they will test. This is in reaction to the thousands of pets that died because of pet food contamination. FDA is now testing pet foods for contamination just like the food and drugs of humans.

You can also find list of pet food recalls in the office of the Department of Health. You will surely find the list there because they are now not only responsible for the health of humans, they are also responsible or the health of animals specifically our pets. They should know those brands of pet foods that were recalled due to melamine content or salmonella content or contamination from other ingredients.

  4. Step 4

The last place to find pet food recalls is of course the net. If you search using your favorite search engines, you'll find a lot of websites who did the research for you, asked the authorities for you and listed the brands that were recalled from the shelves. Use your judgment and see if the websites are trustworthy or not.
