Things You'll Need:
- Your wedding photos digitally
- As many digital photos from friends and family as you can find
- All of your digital photos from other wedding-related events you'd like to include
- A solid 6 hour afternoon to kill - but if can be done in pieces
-
Step 1
Before you get started, browse the album options on www.shutterfly.com (and other sites such as www.iphoto.com and www.snapfish.com) Shutterfly offers a number of options, and you're going to want to pick one before you start uploading pictures so you don't have to do it again!
-
Step 2
Assemble all of the digital photos from your wedding and wedding-related events (showers, rehearsal, honeymoon, etc.). Pick out about 200-300 of your favorites move them all to a single file on your hard drive.
-
Step 3
Go to www.shutterfly.com (or a similar site). Set up an account (completely for free) and upload your folder of pictures from Step 1 following the site's instructions. You might want to start this when you know you're not going to need your internet connection for up to 24 hours. Depending on how high the resolution and the speed of your connection, uploading 200-300 pictures can completely monopolize your connection for hours.
-
Step 4
When you have a few hours to sit in one place, start working with the album program you chose and start putting pictures on template pages. Don't obsess on any one page just at first, just group pictures together, and then when you've gone through and covered all of the pages you'd like, go back and start formatting, adding captions, and other features such as backgrounds, outlines, etc.
-
Step 5
When you've got everything done, put it aside for a night. The sit down with your new spouse and go through it page by page to proofread and perfect it. When you are sure you love it...order it!
