It's that time of year... time for school parties and Valentine Boxes stuffed to the brim with candy and cards. Your daughter will be the envy of every class when she arrives at school with her specially designed princess box - and best of all - she can make it with just a little help from you!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • shoe box of any size
  • feather boa
  • lots of princess stickers
  • glitter glue
  • magic wand with felt name plate
  • glue
  • tissue paper
  • glitter/sparkles
  1. Step 1

Begin with your shoe box. Any size will do, but if the class size is large, then bigger is better. Cut a large hole in the top - big enough to accommodate candy/cards of all sizes. Wrap the lid and bottom in tissue paper. We used pink, but there are some great sparkly wrapping papers out there that would work great. Glue tissue down on the inside of the box to keep ends from coming out.

  2. Step 2

Once you have the box covered in tissue paper, attach the feather boa around the entire edge of the lid - start at one end by applying a small line of glue and pressing the feather boa's string to the glue. Do a small bit at a time. Hot glue guns work best, but if you don't have one, regular glue will work just fine. Continue all the way around and trim the extra boa when you are finished. It looks best if you have enough feather boa to wrap it two times.

  3. Step 3

Poke a small hole in the lid so that the magic wand can slide in easily. Have your child write her name in glitter glue or with stickers on the felt nameplate. Slide the wand into the hole and you will have a fun and creative way for everyone to find her Valentine box.

  4. Step 4

Allow your daughter to go crazy with stickers/glue/ribbon/glitter and more. Place stickers on the front/sides/top for the best looking box in the class.
