Make the best steak just like in the worlds best steak houses.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get a great cut of meat:-Fillet mignon 2-2.1/2" thick.

  2. Step 2

Rub with extra virgin olive oil preferably non filtered (can be found in nice kitchen stores)

  3. Step 3

Season with Coarse gray sea salt (can order from Napa style) Coarse sea salt from Wal-mart is ok but the gray sea salt is phenomenal.

  4. Step 4

Season with fresh cracked black pepper and kneed the seasonings into the meat with hands. ( this reduces the amount of seasonings lost on the grill.)

  5. Step 5

If using charcoal grill wait until all the charcoal turns gray and there is no flame showing when grill reaches this point wait ten more minutes then put the steaks on. With gas get grill to about 300-400 degrees. Then put the steaks on.

  6. Step 6

After putting the steaks on do not touch them until you see some blood bubble forming on the top of the steak. at this point the steaks are ready to flip.( the more you move the steaks on the grill the more seasoning will be taken off.)

  7. Step 7

To get Steaks to desired doneness without cutting make a loose fist with your hand the softest spot by the thumb would represent rare up one centimeter from there is medium rare and so on. when steaks reach your desired doneness (mine is medium rare at this point the steaks are nice and juicy but not chewy JUST RIGHT.)take them off the grill and wait three or four minutes before serving to allow the juices in the steak to redistribute throughout the steak. GOOD LUCK and Great EATING!!
