Paint Walls That Hide Imperfections...a Quick Fix
Paint Walls That Hide Imperfections...a Quick Fix

Have walls that are punctured with holes from hanging pictures or from general wear and tear? Here is a way to quickly hide imperfections while also adding a decorative detail to any room.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • paint
  • a couple paper bags
  • plain white paper
  1. Step 1

Pour 2-3 teaspoons of paint onto the paper bag.

  2. Step 2

Crumple up one piece of plain paper and blot into the paint. Blot into the paint once, then blot off excess on a dry spot on the paper bag.

  3. Step 3

Blot onto the wall until you need more paint on the paper. Blot onto the paper bag and then onto the wall at random. Make sure you pay attention to the paper, it will wear out and start to tear. This will happen after about 10-15 blots. Simply get another piece when that happens.

  4. Step 4

Here is a part of the wall I haven't completed yet, you can see the difference it makes....it adds a lot of warmth to the room for very little money! I used paint I already had, I had a stack of old paper and used paper bags I recently got from the grocery store.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is an inexpensive way to update a room for little money.
  • The room I painted was a small room. For larger rooms I'd spend the money and buy a sponge. Otherwise you'd waste a lot of paper.
  • This is a great way to hide imperfections. As a recent home owner, I have no money to splurge on a professional painter. If I did, I'd hire a plasterer to hide all the nicks that this paint helps to cover up!
  • Pay close attention to the paper you blot with. It will start to tear if you use too much paint and don't blot off excess paint enough.
