It is not unusual for a home to have a black mold problems, depending on your home's location, whether or not your plumbing has been properly maintained and where or not you live in an area that tends to flood. Here are some of the indication that you might have a black mold problem.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    You can smell it. People who have allergies are particularly keen at sensing mold. As soon as they walk in a room they can either smell it of have an allergic reaction, such as sneezing, coughing or congestion. If you can smell it, it is probably there.

  2. Step 2

    If your home floods even once a year, you may have a black mold problem. If you suddenly have allergies that you did not have before, you need to check for mold.

  3. Step 3

    If you have a constant leak under your sink, you probably have a mold problem in your home. Mole many time grown behind walls undetected. Fix all leaks immediately

  4. Step 4

    If there is no ventilation in your basement or crawlspaces, you probably have a mold problem. Mold grows in dark, damp, closed up places. Ventilate those areas.

  5. Step 5

    If you see black stuff growing in the corners around your bathtub and sink, you have a mold problem.

  6. Step 6

    If you think you have a mold problem, there are mold removal companies that can come to your home to test for mold, by testing the air.
