Proposing to your girlfriend can be make any guy nervous and jittery! Here are a few tips to keep in mind when asking the big question!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Don't be nervous. If you are thinking of asking her, you must be pretty sure by now that she'll say yes and the wedding is on its way! Just take a few deep breaths and look into her eyes.

  2. Step 2

Don't worry about the ring. Your girlfriend has probably hinted as to what kind of ring she'd like and I'm sure you've discreetly found out her ring size. The most important thing is not the ring, but the love behind it.

  3. Step 3

Plan a nice dinner. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money; you could even cook her dinner. Just set a nice mood with some candles and wine.

  4. Step 4

Do get on one knee. You have to, it's tradition. She'll probably start crying the minute she sees you on one knee so have a couple of tissues in your pocket along with the ring!

  5. Step 5

Do get her parents' permission. No matter what age she is, some families are traditional and getting her father's blessing might be a part of the event. Find this out in advance.

  6. Step 6

Speak from the heart. Just tell her how you feel about her and that's you'd like to spend the rest of your life with her. Don't worry about stubling over your words or sweating. She'll understand.
