Nobody wants to pay $20+ for each and every boutonniere in a wedding party, or even just for prom. I made 12 boutonnieres in less than half an hour the night before my wedding, and I did it for less than $20 for all of them!

Instructions
Things You'll Need
One rose per boutonniere
A piece of baby's breath, fern, or other filler for each
Choose a rose whose petals haven't opened much but is still firmly attached to the stem. Cut the stem 1 to 1-1/2 inches down from the base of the bloom.
2
Line up the filler behind the rose head so that it fans out around and above the bloom but doesn't overpower it. Cut off at the same place as the rose stem.
3
Use the floral tape to bind the rose stem and the filler stem. Start at the base of the rose head so you can line thins up. Wrap down, cover the bottoms, and wind back up to create a smooth finish.
4
Insert 1-2 pearl pins into the floral tape covered stems. Refrigerate until given to the luck guy!
Tips & Warnings
Less is more. No guy wants to wear a frilly, bow-tied floral nightmare.
Try to make the boutonniere the night before the event and then refrigerate.
Have one or two extra roses on hand in case you're not thrilled with your first attempt.
