Every day eHow has featured articles of the day on their homepage. It is quite an honor to be chosen, and there are many perks that go along with this distinction of being on the front page of a top 500 in popularity internet site. If you are lucky enough to have an article on their home page, you will get more views, and earnings. You also will get added credibility and a self esteem boost. Your eHow friends will congratulate you in the forums and send you notes of affirmation, and friend requests. Like anything else, this honor must be earned.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • eHow membership
  • quality articles
  1. Step 1
    have a memorable avatar

    have a memorable avatar

If you are not already a member of eHow, it's easy to sign up. You have to be a U.S. citizen and have a paypal account if you would like to collect earnings from your articles. Complete your profile and choose a member name and avatar that are an appropriate reflection of your personality.

  2. Step 2
    pull out your writing books

    pull out your writing books

To have a featured article of the day on eHow, you need to have articles. Make sure they are high quality articles with fully developed paragraphs and good content. Use the spell check and reread your article several times to catch grammatical errors. Offer resources if possible. Include interesting photos as well.

  3. Step 3

Spend time reading other eHow writer's articles. Leave ratings and comments that show that you read and absorbed what their article was about. Leaving comments for others usually will result in those writers taking the time to read and rate your articles. This is a great way to get more exposure for your articles and receive constructive criticism from fellow writers.

  4. Step 4
    consider their advice

    consider their advice

Visit the forums regularly. There is a lot of great advice from the trenches and the eHow community is great at sharing tips and resources. Be sure to participate, offer feedback and ask for help. The eHow featured writers are usually forum regulars. If a fellow eHow member offers constructive criticism, consider it carefully.

  5. Step 5

Be a consistent eHow contributor to get consideration for a front page eHow article of the day. Submitting only one or two articles a month probably won't be enough to catch the eHow administration's eye.

  6. Step 6
write about popular topics, for example everyone wants to reduce cell phone bills

Write timely articles that are relevant to upcoming events, seasons, holidays, etc. February featured articles usually relate to Valentine's Day, national heart disease month, winter, etc. Consider what is coming up and write articles that are relevant and current. eHow front page articles usually pertain to information that everyone can relate to rather than a select few.

  7. Step 7
king or queen for a day

When you are chosen to be the featured eHow writer of the day, take time to bask in the attention. Take a look at the congratulations thread in the forums and be sure to thank everyone. Check your eHow in box and read the warm notes of appreciation from your eHow friends and admirers. Send them a note of appreciation back to say thank you.
Shout your accomplishment from the rooftops! Post the link to your featured article on your Facebook page, Twitter it, and post it to your blog and website. Email the link to your friends so they can be awed by your superstar status. This gives you a great reason to promote your other articles.

  8. Step 8
    celebrate your eHow achievements

Print off the screen page of your place of honor so you can put it in your scrapbook or frame it for your office. Make copies of it and include in your business newsletters or marketing for added credibility. Remember to pay it forward whenever possible to your fellow community members when they are the featured member of the day on eHow.
