How to keep your credit/debit card safe from hackers

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • paper
  1. Step 1

First off, be aware of scams. If banks call you asking for your credit card #, dont do it. No bank will call you and ask for your #. If banks are suspicious of credit actiivity then they will call you directly and just verify the charges.

  2. Step 2

A lot of hackers now a days will send an email to you pretending to be your bank and it will say, in order to keep your account active you must enter your ssn or credit card #. Again, this is a scam, no bank will ever ask you to verify your credit card # unless you are making the call to the bank itself.

  3. Step 3

Now, when your out in general public using your credit card remember to keep your receipts. When you go to a restaurant or eating establishment and you dont give a tip, remember to put a zero in the tip line because if you leave it blank, an employee can write in their own tip. Even for a small amount and you might not notice the difference.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful at atms and gas station pumps. If the credit card reader doesnt look normal or loose or looks like it might be overlapping then dont use your card there. Internet shopping is extremely safe. Just always look for the verify - security link down at the bottom of the checkout page. That means the website is protected and safe to use.
