1
Paint the room. Painting a room is an inexpensive way to completely change the way it looks. Pick one color and paint all four walls, or just use a bright pop of color on one wall for an accent. If you are using an accent wall color, decorate the rest of the room using the accent shade to highlight it.
-
2
Add decals to the walls. Geometric shapes in funky colors, letters that spell out her name or favorite quotes, or other items that reflect her personality, can dance along one or all four walls to add an eclectic touch to the room. Use different colored decals so you'll have more color options when decorating the rest of the room.

Change up the bedding. Bedding that is inexpensive can be bought at most retailers; some include sheets as well as a comforter. Match the bedding to the walls and decals to pull the room together. Add a few colorful throw pillows to the bed.

4
Add some animal prints to the room. Animal prints go with every color and they add a funky touch to a girls' room. The animal prints can be in the form of pillows, a rug, a furry throw blanket or framed art.

5
Hang up some fairy lights. Twinkle lights make a room feel cozy and look really cool, especially at night. Clear twinkle lights will be a pretty addition to a girl's bedroom. If you are using a lot of colors in the room, use multicolored lights instead for a lively look, or lights in the shape of something such as jalapeno peppers, which are fun and funky.

6
Gather some interesting room decor at vintage or thrift stores. A cool wall clock, ornate mirrors or old-fashioned knick knacks will add visual interest to a bedroom and not break the bank. Find some neat framed art or cool lamps and vases.
