How to Get Telemarketers to Quit Calling Your Phone
Telemarketers are permitted to contact you by phone unless you explicitly request that they not. You may do this individually by asking the callers to remove your number from their lists, or en masse by registering for the Do Not Call Registry.

Register your phone with the National Do Not Call list. You can place your home phone number as well as your personal cell phone number on this list. Call 1-888-382-1222. You must call from the phone number you are registering. You can also register your phone number online at donotcall.gov.

Wait approximately one month before your registration propagates to telemarketer's call lists.

Make direct requests to the caller to be put on the business's do not call list if you have a preexisting business relationship. Companies with whom you have a relationship are permitted to call even if you are on the national registry.
