If you have ever been wet and under a fan, you can appreciate how baby feels when she's wet and sitting in a bath full of lukewarm water. By following these steps you may be able to minimize baby's chills.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Baby
  • Baby wash
  • Baby shampoo
  • Cup
  • Towel
  • Clean diaper
  • Fresh clothes
  1. Step 1

Turn on the heat in the bathroom if you can. Leave the heat on with the door closed for 10 minutes or so before you bring the baby in.

  2. Step 2

Start the water. Undress baby and put him in the tub. Immediately start washing him from the bottom up until you hit the neck. As the water fills up, it will rinse him off.

  3. Step 3

When you hit the neck, use the cup to pour water over her head. There is no nice way to do this. Wash her face and ears and then her hair. Rinse.

  4. Step 4

Lift baby out and wrap him in a towel. Bear hug until he is dry.

  5. Step 5

Under the heat, unwrap the towel, quickly put a diaper on him and dress him, preferably in clothing that covers all exposed skin except head to keep him as warm as possible.

Tips & Warnings
  • This eHow would not work for babies who cannot yet sit up on their own.
  • Especially when baby is sitting in the bathtub with water up to her neck, sit practically right on top of her and hold her steady. Try to keep one hand on her at all times. Be very, very careful not to let her slip under the water.
