Green tea health benefits

This drink can help you lose weight, as well as prevent cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and liver disease. These are just some of the green tea health benefits. Green tea is growing in popularity due to its healing properties that can help you live a longer and healthier life. Here's how to maximize the benefits.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Properly prepare green tea. If the tea is over cooked, this could destroy the green tea health benefits. Green tea is loaded with polyphenols, which are potent antioxidants. Polyphenols give green tea its healing properties. Polyphenols fight off free radicals, which can damage the body's cells and cause disease. Use only one tea bag for each cup of green tea you make. Put a pot of cold water on the stove and let it boil. Then turn the stove off and let the water sit for 3 minutes. Put a tea bag in the cup and pour the water into the cup. Let it sit for 3 minutes and then take the tea bag out of the cup. Let the tea cool off for another 3 minutes.

  2. Step 2

Be sure to drink enough tea to get the most green tea health benefits. The potency can vary from one brand of green tea to another. As a general, it's recommended that you drink about 4 cups daily. Each cup of green tea generally has between 50 to 150 mg polyphenols.

  3. Step 3

Get additional green tea health benefits by taking supplements. Green tea extract supplements don't have as much caffeine as the tea. Yet it offers the same healing properties. If you take supplement, make sure they are the standardized green tea extract. This way, you'll know that each tablet you take contains the same level of potency. To get the maximum benefits, take 300 to 400mg daily.
