In this article you'll learn how to cover up your acne in a few steps using makeup. It's important to use the right kind of makeup, because choosing the wrong products can lead to worse skin.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (or other foundation primer)
  • Clinique Acne Solutions Stick
  • Liquid Concealer (one shade lighter than your natural skintone)
  1. Step 1

Start with a clean, fresh face. Apply foundation primer like you would your face lotion, gently massaging it into your skin in a circular motion. You should notice a reduction in redness already, and your pores will appear smaller.

  2. Step 2

Apply Clinique's Acne Solution stick where needed. Blend with finger tip or an angled brush. Remember to use the shade closest to your own skin tone- this is key to helping the product blend.

  3. Step 3

Lastly, dab on liquid concealer on any bad break outs or redness still visible. Remember to always use a shade lighter when applying liquid concealer over acne. This will help eliminate redness and give you an overall healthy looking complexion.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember, if you suffer from acne or bad break outs, avoid foundation. It tends to "cake" around pimples and zits, plus it seeps into your pores which will only lead to more break outs.
  • There are several types of primers, Smashbox alone has several shades. I recommend the "Color Adjust" shade, which reduces redness.
