All standard computer keyboards have a print screen button. What does that button do and how does that button work?? Below find the steps to using the print screen button.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    The first step in using the print screen button is to locate it on your keyboard. The print screen button is located on the upper right hand side of the keyboard, most often beside the scroll lock key and the pause/break key.

  2. Step 2

    Next, when the information is on your screen that you want capture, pressing print screen will capture the entire screen. Pressing the alt key at the same time as the print screen key, it will capture the currently selected window.

  3. Step 3

    Next, you will need to paste what you screenshot into an editing program such as a word processor (Microsoft Word, email, or graphics software. This is done by going into program you are wanting to screenshot into, right clicking and choosing paste.

  4. Step 4

    Just a tip: Pressing print screen, with both the alt key and shift key pressed, turns on a high contrast mode for people with visual impairments.
